the odd thing is I get the exact same problem on my laptop as well, which is
why I'm less inclined to try a reinstall, though if nobody can come up with
any more ideas I might try that.

I'm not sure exactly how this works, try reinstalling mushz, and make sure
your modifying the correct volume settings. I had this same problem where
I couldn't change the sound volume, and I don't have a reason for it.
However, reinstalling a couple times seems to have randomly fixe it.

Hi.
i can't get the area music and ambience to work properly in mush client.
It's been a while sinse I played I admit, but I updated to the latest
version before I went back on, but now it seems very messed up.
Both are enabled, but when i start hitting F11 to raise the volume it
refuses to work, I just get the volume raising sound and nothing! I've
tried config ambience and comfig music, and tried config to get the list
box, but nothing seems to do it.
Sinse I really enjoy the music and ambience, this is quite frustrating!
