Just a note on my weapons guide file, I'm not certain if I've
updated it to include the two new weapons (aa12 and m240). Also,
on the subject of footstep volume, as you raise the level of your stealth skill, the volume of your footsteps will decrease, ending at 80% of the original. This can get a little confusing if you're switching from custom to online maps, so just remember what you have the volume set at.

another thing you could try is to raise the footsteps of the zombies a little higher than your own, and mute other players footsteps for now.

I would suggest that you do not raise the footsteps of the zombies past 100%. If you do, it will throw you totally off especially once and if you remember to lower it later. Otherwise you will be thinking the zombie is
closer than it really is.

but lowering yours and others footsteps can be helpful. But don't lower yours too much. I have lowered it too much, only to run into something and it stopped me. Yet I thought I was still running. I keep my footsteps about 80% and others about 50%. I like to know if someone is really close to me.

For now, get pretty close before shooting. This way you are narrowing down
the angle of the target, and within range of it.

Also be sure to read the 2 weapon files in the swamp directory. This will give you an idea of damage, range, and capabilities of each weapon. And you may want to practice on the custom maps a bit to get a feel for each weapon.
There you can shoot and die with no regrets, nothing lost.

Good luck. Ask as many questions in the game as you wish. Most of us are
very glad to help and assist.
