Hi everyone,

With the goal of improving the developer workflow, we have switched from
svn (actually we used git-svn) to “plain” git. This will have no impact
on contributors: patches can be sent to the mailing list as before, and
that now they will have proper authorship information when committed.

The repositories are hosted at:

  git.ganeti.org

Go to http://git.ganeti.org for the web interface and to get the git://
links for checkout.

We will shortly do an “svn rm” for the trunk and 1.2 branch in SVN
repository, just to prevent mistakes in committing; the old SVN tags
will remain in order to be able to checkout old versions from SVN, if
needed for whatever reason (they are available from git too, of course).

Notes on the conversion process: we believe we have managed to convert
all information, e.g. old tags, commit dates, etc. If you see any
problems please let us know.

thanks,
iustin
