On a test case similar to the one in the bug (20GB instance moved between
two nodes in a cluster with a 1Gbps connection), the speed of gnt-instance
move equals the scp speed taken as reference - approximately 47MBps.
The problem is irreproducible in 2.9, and it seems that the code referenced
here may not even be used anymore. It is a bit hard to tell, given that
there are at least 4 places in the codebase where similar commands are
crafted and used.
Some refactoring is in order, but it does not make sense to introduce these
changes in 2.9. Issue closed.
