New issue 604 by [email protected]: batch-create demands iallocator when no
secondary node is specified even for plain disk
http://code.google.com/p/ganeti/issues/detail?id=604
(This was reported on IRC for 2.7, I haven't tried it out myself)
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Try to use gnt-instance batch-create with instances of disk
template 'plain' and specify only the primary node and node allocator.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Ganeti should place the instances on the specified primary node. Instead,
it says:
No iallocator or nodes on the instances given and no cluster-wide default
iallocator found; please specify either an iallocator or nodes on the
instances or set a cluster-wide default iallocator.
Workaround:
- Specify a secondary node. Ganeti displays a warning that the secondary
node will be ignored but does its job to put the instance on the primary
node.
