Well after discussions on this we decided that the following enhancements
should be made:
- Split pool logic from networks (make pool optional)
- Support L2, IPv4, IPv6 only networks
- Support multiple subnets per network
- Support multiple IPs per instance
Another slot (e.g. ip6) in NIC objects is not really needed if the already
existing `ip` slot was a list instead of simple string. Some more thoughts
should
be made in order how to associate each IP to the corresponding network or
subnet.
I am in the process of writing a design doc including all that. Hope it
will be
ready next week. As soon as all design issues get resolved implementation
could follow. Since the enhancements are not minor, those features might
take some time
to be merged upstream and get released.
