New issue 856 by [email protected]: luxid keeps segfaulting
http://code.google.com/p/ganeti/issues/detail?id=856

What software version are you running? Please provide the output of "gnt-
cluster --version", "gnt-cluster version", and "hspace --version".

gnt-cluster --version
gnt-cluster (ganeti v2.10.5) 2.10.5

gnt-cluster version
Software version: 2.10.5
Internode protocol: 2100000
Configuration format: 2100000
OS api version: 20
Export interface: 0
VCS version: (ganeti) version v2.10.5

hspace --version
hspace (ganeti) version v2.10.5
compiled with ghc 7.6
running on linux x86_64

What distribution are you using?
Debian Jessie

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. /etc/init.d/ganeti restart
2. gnt-node list
3. luxid is no longer running

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I expect to see this, other than the last line is messed up due to the problem:
Node DTotal DFree MTotal MNode MFree Pinst Sinst
earth.engg.ksu.edu 16.3T 11.1T 15.7G 5.9G 9.7G 7 4
egeria.engg.ksu.edu 721.9G 591.7G 3.9G 1.3G 2.9G 1 1
hygiea.engg.ksu.edu 721.9G 591.7G 7.8G 2.2G 6.3G 1 1
mars.engg.ksu.edu 16.3T 6.3T 15.7G 8.4G 5.8G 7 3
mercury.engg.ksu.edu 12.2T 8.4T 15.7G 11.1G 6.6G 8 3
uranus.engg.ksu.edu ? ? ? ? ? 0 11

I generally see this:
Cannot communicate with the config daemon.
Is the process running and listening for connections?

Please provide any additional information below.
I just recently upgraded from 2.10.3 to 2.10.5. This appears to have been what caused the problem as everything was working fine before. I used the debian packages, and then ran cfgupgrade and restarted all of my nodes.

Attached is a strace dump from running this command:
su -s /bin/bash -c 'strace /usr/sbin/ganeti-luxid -f -d > /tmp/strace.txt 2>&1' gnt-luxid

and then trying to run gnt-node list.
