Comment #1 on issue 879 by [email protected]: gnt-cluster upgrade backs up
all of /var/lib/ganeti/export
http://code.google.com/p/ganeti/issues/detail?id=879
This is not a Ganeti problem. The directory for exports
is configurable at configure time and the default is
/srv/ganeti/export which is outside the default for
the ganeti configuration data.
see
http://git.ganeti.org/?p=ganeti.git;a=blob;f=configure.ac;h=c41b8a4aa66e75200dc08e3f0c42a5d23af4403e;hb=HEAD#l129
The directory /var/lib/ganeti/exports you mention
is only introduced in Debian packaging,
see
http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=pkg-ganeti/ganeti.git;a=blob;f=debian/rules;h=b230f26cfb0732f127144e117beeb7b38ab4ea19;hb=f69a0b7c06b17567c49dba8e7e98ab3282119bce#l36
So, from a Ganeti point of view, this issue is invalid but I'll
CC Appollon (once I'm in the office tomorrow) who takes care
of the debian package.
In particular, your suggestions 1 and 2 are not an option, as
the upstream code base should not make any assumptions about
paths nowhere mentioned in that code base.
