No ideas sorry, but I can also confirm this was happening on my IRIX boxes. I never tried it on a uni-proc box (compiling stuff on an Indy really bites) so I just assumed it was an IRIX thing. I ended up doing the same thing - replacing mtu_func with a dummy function. Cheers, James
