-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Greetings all,
it has been some time since the last post so here is an update on the metric status. Since the SMART patch _does_ work but only when running gmond as root I've decided to drop the SMART mechanics and focussed fully on the "normal" seek/read syscalls. After a bit of testing I've noticed that it works fine until you run gmond without the debug option (-d). Because if you do all the lseek and read calls fail for some mysterious reason. I'm still working on figuring out why this happens but in the mean time I successfully ported the uniform mount list to FreeBSD and did a bit of testing on that. When I can find the time I'll try the lseek/read syscalls on FreeBSD to see if it works there. - -- Sander van Vliet - -- If Linux does not solve the problem, you've got the wrong problem.
