guys- i just wanted to let you know what i'm up to. i really want to start pushing hard on 2.6.0 to get it out the door. it's not an easy task given that ganglia is currently running on so many platforms. i really want to keep it that way.
to help.. i've installed micro$oft's virtual pc on a workstation here and i'm currently installing freebsd 4, freebsd 5 and solaris 9 x86. (actually the workstation has two CDs so i'm currently installing freebsd 4 and 5 simultaneous.. neato). i'm downloading the solaris iso images now. i only see the solaris 9 download right now... i'll like to install an older version as well.. i know i have some old 7 or 8 cd's somewhere. i'll be able to run multiple operating system in multiple windows and have them all work with the same CVS repository. given this setup i should be able to accelerate development on those platforms. MacOSX is similar enough to FreeBSD that i think it shouldn't be too painful. i'm now sure how to handle the AIX/Tru64/HPUX/IRIX guys... ideas? could we setup a ganglia developers compile farm somehow? any donation of accounts? -matt -- PGP fingerprint 'A7C2 3C2F 8445 AD3C 135E F40B 242A 5984 ACBC 91D3' They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. --Benjamin Franklin, Historical Review of Pennsylvania, 1759
