i have a simple example of how gmond/gmetad will work using HTTP.

if you grab http://matt-massie.com/ganglia/ganglia-web-0.1.4.tar.gz
you'll have the code for this example.

there is a directory called ./gmond now where you can view the source
(especially gmond.c).  a ./configure && make will create a gmond in this
directory... just do a ./gmond to start and point your web browser to
http://yourserver:8666/. 

i'll be sending you the module interface in the coming days/week which
will show you exactly how we're going to collect/ store and standardize
the metric data from all of our architectures.
