I think someone might need to step up and take over Matt's role in the releasing process for a while, since he seems to be away and his last communication was over 5 weeks ago.

Over the past few months I have posted several patches to Ganglia's
bugzilla page:

http://bugzilla.ganglia.info/cgi-bin/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=37

Perhaps some of these could be included and tested by others so
eventually they could be included in a future official version.

Bernard,

if one would look at the commit messages on the ganglia-cvs list, one
could think that the major changes since 3.0.1 are:

- NetBSD support
- showhost=off change in the web frontend
- fixing a 64-bit coredump in Linux (IA64 and x86_64)
- adding "include" support to gmond.conf
- fixing a coredump from "gmond -d 2"
- fixing RPM building for RedHat and Mandrake

If one would look there :-)

Cheers
Martin

This has the 64-bit fix right? BTW, if you are aware of them, it
might
be good to list out the changes since 3.0.1.

Thanks,

Bernard

Bernard,

Cool :-) After installing rrdtool and rrdtool-devel the RPMs build
OK.
At least on Fedora/FC2 and i386.

I have put - again no commitment to future services - the
resulting
RPMs at:

http://www.knobisoft.de/ganglia/

This is not meant to be a release. Just for testing...

Cheers
Martin

Sweet ;-)

FYI, you can install rrdtool-devel from the following link and
you
should be able to build the RPM without problems:

http://dag.wieers.com/packages/rrdtool/

BTW, are there any Mandriva or SUSE users here? I am having
issues
installing ganglia-gmond on Mandriva - just checking to see
if others
are encountering the same problem.

Cheers,

Bernard
