Ahh, my mail crossed with Ian's.
For me, I just put up with the slightly varying image sizes in return for no aliasing artifacts. In truth I find most standard ganglia instances pretty ugly for this reason. If there is any underlying problem, it is that you can only tell rrdtool what the size of tbe graph part is and not the overall image size. And the overall image size is variable too, depending on how much text is present in the png. I am right about this aren't I?
