I don't understand your request, /dev/shm is a tmpfs.

I changed the rrd_rootdir in my gmetad.conf to /dev/shm/ganglia/rrds and
I don't see any difference using /var/lib/ganglia/rrds mounted as a
tmpfs.

I'm missing something?
