I'm running gmetad, not gmond, on RH 8.0 (the cluster is still running
7.1), but I haven't noticed any such problems. You are aware that there
has been two updates for the kernel packages for RH8.0? Try upgrading to
the latest (2.4.18-18.8.0 if I remember correctly - no I have no idea
what that numbering means :).
