Hi
I have a small cluster running gmond configured to unicast to 2
masters. The gmond config looks something like the following:
udp_send_channel {
host = master1.mydomain
port = 8649
ttl = 1
}
udp_send_channel {
host = master2.mydomain
port = 8649
ttl = 1
}
This works perfectly. However, if I relocate a master to a new node in
the same cluster (its IP will change but its host name remains the same)
then it no longer receives data from any of the gmonds. I have confirmed
that the host name is correctly bound to the new IP. The only way for
the master to start receiving data is to restart every gmond service.
Is it possible to move a gmetad to a new node in a cluster without
having to restart all the gmond services? I have explicitly chosen not
to multicast so I would like to find a solution using a unicast
configuration.
Richard
