Hi All,

I've got a system with 15 disks mounted as individual devices (sda to sdp). The
ganglia diskstat module is reporting non-zero values on only 12 of the 16
disks. I can see that values for all the devices updating in /proc/diskstats .
When I look at the gmond output with "telnet localhost 8649" I see that the
various parameters are being reported but they are always reported as zero.

For example:

<METRIC NAME="diskstat_sde_write_bytes_per_sec" VAL="0.000000" TYPE="float"
UNITS="bytes/sec" TN="27" TMAX="60" DMAX="0" SLOPE="both">

is always zero no matter what is happening on the disk. I verified that this
disk is updating /proc/diskstats .

Does anyone have suggestion on how I might debug this further? I've tried
restarting gmond, it've tried removing the rpms and reinstalling them (assuming
that there might be some config that happens at install time). Both of these
things didn't work.

Running:
Ganglia 3.3.7
Scientific Linux 6.3

Thanks,

Ian
