Hi, I'm lisp newbie (after "Gentle Introduction to Symbolic Computation", somewhere in 4 chapter of PCL). I've written some small programs: - UCW page (some HTML tables generated from mysql database (cl-sql)) - several litle functions for my everyday work (to manipulate big SQL database, because it's easier (for me) than do it in PHP (funny - I work as PHP programmer for about 7 years, but after 3-or-so months Lisp (Slime + SBCL + cl-sql) appeals more handy :D)) - simple tests (OpenGL too), examples and some parts of pong game (in cl-sdl)
Stuff I'm interested in: - cl-sdl (would like to write simple games in Lisp for Win, Lin and Mac) - maybe something like pygame-for-lisp (http://www.pygame.org) - ucw (to replace nasty PHP in everyday work) - help in making lisp (SBCL) programs easily distributable (.exe or something smaller than full-29mb-core-for-simple-pong-sdl-game) Stuff I'm able to do: - I've earn money (ie. I'm so-called-professional :D) for (rather simple) programs in: - Perl (data manipulation, cgi) - C, C++ (console programs, very simple Apache mod, little SQL communication, simple SDL and OpenGL) - Java (sql, games (applets), very simple GUI apps, SmartCards) - Python (console, GUI (gtk, wxWidgets), SQL, games (PyGame)) - lots of PHP (websites and applications - SQL, Smarty) - maybe I can help in cl-sdl (update it, port more examples (maybe more NeHe lessons) but maybe cl-sdl-new should be Verrazano-generated - don't know. If yes - maybe can I help in Verrazano to do so. - I'm not able to design but may help in writing pygame-in-lisp functions (wrapper around SDL to easily write simple and not-so-simple games in Lisp) - With help I may be able to understand some part of lisp internals (SBCL) and try to help in exe-generation-functions Stuff I'm not able to do: - documentation (poor English - I can read but I can't write :D) Like we all I don't have much free time but like to help in our garden.
