Eclipse looks like it could be a great IDE environment for newbies and/or
the Emacs averse. It is designed specifially to support modules for multiple
languages. It also looks like a fairly mature environment for development
fully supporting Java and C++ already with other nice features like
debugging and CVS.

There are already some attempts at making a lisp interface for Eclipse but
it is hard to tell what state they are in from the web.  If someone wanted
check these out and report on the state of affairs for Lisp+Eclipse that
