Since releasing v0.04 of Slimpl (28 Jan '06), which allowed you to
send expressions from Vim to Lisp and get a result back, I've worked
on, but not completed, adding support for the Swank debugger. Slime
has two events to invoke the debugger, :debug and :debug-activate;
I've implemented (I think) all the non-editor-specific code for each,
but not started work on having Vim call it.

On Thursday (2 Mar '06) Jim Bailey dropped the bombshell that he'd
gotten Vim linked with ECL (Embeddable Common Lisp). This sparked a
great deal of interest and conversation on the Slimpl mailing list,
and we've pretty much decided to abandon Slimpl (the Perl module) as
such, and concentrate on a more Lisp-based solution.
