Hello all, the Slim-Vim project (http://wiki.alu.org/Slim-Vim) has just reached a pre-beta stage that I am labelling v0.1
The Slim-Vim project aims to implement the Emacs Slime debugger in Vim, using Embedded Common Lisp as the Vim scripting language. At the moment Slim-Vim can: - Evaluate forms from a Vim buffer on the Swank backend, using the correct package from the current file - Automatically open a debugger window that lets you view the immediate backtrace, show/hide local variables and invoke a restart when a error condition occurs. - Open an inspector window to view data in variables - Navigate through sub-elements of a compound data type - Pop back to previous inspector menus. Right now, Slim-Vim is not for the faint of heart - you need to compile Vim and ECL yourself, and so far the only tested backend is SBCL. However, we do need testers and our community (mailing list is http://www.lispniks.com/mailman/listinfo/slim-vim) is small and helpful. *So if you're a Vi guy at heart, suffering at the hands of Emacs for your Lisp sins - come give Slim-Vim a try. Your wrists will thank you for it! Cheers Brad *No editor wars please! :) I can't be the only Lisper that doesn't like Emacs (can I?...) -- Go and see "An Inconvenient Truth" http://www.climatecrisis.net/ _______________________________________________ Gardeners mailing list [email protected] http://www.lispniks.com/mailman/listinfo/gardeners
