the only way I was able to really deal with COND was to stop using it
and start using IF*

Larry, are you posting these articles anywhere besides the gardeners
list? It might be nice to have a collection of links to them somewhere
like cl-user.net or the cliki to help newbies start thinking about
things like meta-linguistic abstraction
