Has anyone documented allowable fuel sizes in terms of a rule of thumb for (fuel surface area to volume) ratio, comparing that number to hearth restriction diameter, also having a range of this ratio related to interstitial space, i.e. range a/v X to a/v 0.6 X allowable, for a hearth of 5X diameter, and would this method be a good rule of thumb?
Thanks, William
