Luke Faraone proposed the following answer:
GASP will not be supported under Python 3 until:
1) {pygtk, pycairo} is supported under Python 3
2) Ubuntu, Debian, or Fedora's next release version in development ships
Python 3 as default.
You really shouldn't be using Python 3 yet.
