I guess they figure they have so many people waiting for a chance to buy
tickets that if they lose some smokers over the new policy "so what?".

Well, as we all know, they do have a No Drinking policy, but it's pretty much
ignored, as long as one isn't too open or obnoxious about it.

I do not smoke, and I don't like the smell, but I think this No Smoking
policy goes too far. They don't make any area of the stadium available for
smokers? They are telling ticket-holders who smoke that they have to go nearly
four hours without lighting up. And, by the way, you cannot step outside the
stadium and come back.

I think the whole thing is ridiculous.

Gator football is right around the corner and like you; we are all
very excited for the start of the 2009 season. As always, thank you
for your invaluable support of our program.

We want to make sure that you are aware of our new “No Smoking”
policy. Beginning this year, Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, as well as all
other University of Florida athletic facilities, will be completely
smoke free. This means that smoking will be prohibited both inside
and within 50 feet of the stadium premises. The University of Florida
will be the ninth school in the SEC to adopt a smoke free policy for
its athletic facilities. Please remember our no re-entry policy will
    continue to be in effect.

We understand this change may be an inconvenience to you or those in
your party, but we thank you in advance for complying with our new
smoke free policy. If you have any further questions about this
policy, or the upcoming Gator football season, please feel free to
contact the Gator Booster office at (352) 375-4683 ext. 5000. Thanks
again and we look forward to seeing you on September 5th.

    Go Gators!
