Yabbut did you see who (by process of elimination) was picked to finish sixth in the SEC East?
Things COULD be worse, my friend. -----Original Message----- From: gatortalk@googlegroups.com [mailto:gatort...@googlegroups.com]on Behalf Of Charlie Sent: Thursday, October 22, 2009 6:36 PM To: gatortalk@googlegroups.com Subject: [gatortalk] Re: "Hoops Scoop" --- Patterson on UF [Brockway] Importance: Low Well Oliver doesn't look like things are going to get much better any time soon. According to an article I read a couple of days ago the Gator were pick to finish 5th in the 6 team SEC east this year. Also another article said they were having trouble selling tickets this year and had to come up with a bunch of "specials" to overcome that. I'm not really a BB fan but the Gator BB'ers are certainly a long way from where they were a couple of years ago. Kentucky junior power forward Patrick Patterson has long been considered the missing piece to Florida’s struggles the past two seasons. For team that has been ranked near the bottom of the league rebounding, field goal percentage defense and shot blocking, Patterson’s presence on the boards at the rim could have made a huge impact. Patterson acknowledged Thursday morning during Southeastern Conference media days that Florida coach Billy Donovan’s flirtation with the NBA and eventual six-day stint with the Orlando Magic played a role in his decision to pick Kentucky over Florida in 2007. “Oh yeah, that played a factor,” Patterson said. “He told me if he left he would sign something to allow me to open my recruitment back up to other places. I was constantly listening to what people were saying, if he was going to take a job and he did take a job despite what he was saying, but he came back.” --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ GATORS: ONE VOICE ON SATURDAY - NO VOICE ON SUNDAY! 1996 National Football Champions | 2006 National Basketball Champions 2006 National Football Champions | 2007 National Basketball Champions 2008 National Football Champions | Three Heisman Trophy winners: Steve Spurrier (1966), Danny Wuerffel (1996), Tim Tebow (2007) - Visit our website at www.gatornet.us -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
