When I kicked a two-pack a day habit by "cold turkey", my "thoughts" were
very simplistic. I came to the realization that I was allowing myself to be
CONTROLLED by something, and as a former hippie, I have ALWAYS had a problem
with being "controlled". My wife says I'm a "rebel", my profs said I was a
"non-conformist", and the police said I had a problem with "authority". :)
I say I'm just a self-thinking, fiercely independent, individual.

Now, it’s more dealing with slowly changing the behavioral links that occurred

My Gator Friends,
1 month down. Switched to the 14mg patch last week and then tore that off
Saturday afternoon. That means I have ½ a box of 21mg’s, over ½ box of the 14’s
and an unopened box of the 7’s at home. I wanted to get off the nicotine
entirely and not wear the 7’s for a week. Really not that bad at all. Not sure
what to expect as all nicotine eliminated, but hope it just keeps getting
easier. Sent notes to ALA and ACS to get a feel for some local volunteer work.
It would be nice to help some other kick this biotch. Thanks for your support.
Day 2 with no patch—I need a beer.
