You don’t have to be mean! I am a missionary here up north trying to bring them some Southern culture. I will have you know that after 12 years at my church, many in the congregation had finally learned to say “Ya’ll.” Even better I educated them to the finer things in life like cheese grits.
Jerry P.S. I am actually pretty famous for my cheese grits up here. I have developed a heart healthy version that is pretty decent. If anyone is interested, here it is: I c quick grits 4 cups water 2 heaping table spoons of minced garlic (jar OK) 1 teaspoon of habañera hot sauce (Texas Pete or LA hotsauce OK as substitute) 1 package (8 0z.) of Seriously Sharp (Cabot) cheese 1/3 cup of plain yogurt Bring water, garlic, and hot sauce to rapid boil. Add Yogurt and return to boil. Slowly add grits stirring constantly then reduce heat to very low. Cover stirring about every minute until grits are cooked. Slick and add cheese until melted.
