My memory is getting bad. I remember playing Duke back in the early 70's. I thought I remembered that they had left the SEC, but I was wrong. Actually (I looked this up) the original SEC was 13 teams and included Sewanee (University of the South), Tulane, and Ga Tech. Interestingly, the glory days of Georgia Tech were while they were in the SEC. (The Rambling Wreck from Georgia Tech.) Sewanee left in 1940. Ga Tech left in 1964. Tulane left in 1966. South Carolina and Arkansas were added in 1991.
