The best bar will often be a tiny, dank room with a sign outside that just says "bar." Why? Because these are the places that don't attract tourists, the places that you have to look hard to find, the places that are usually locally owned and operated and that emphasize substance over style. Luckily, Gainesville has some of the coolest hidden gems around, and some not-so-hidden ones, too. So, if you're a new student or a resident who thinks there's nothing left to do in this town, consider this your A to Z guide to all things Gainesville: <http://www.gainesville.com/apps/pbcsi.dll/bilde?Site=GS&Date=20100826&Categ ory=ARTICLES&ArtNo=100829679&Ref=AR&MaxW=250&border=0> <http://www.gainesville.com/article/20100826/ARTICLES/100829679/0/LOCAL&tc=o mni?p=all&tc=pgall##> Click to enlarge Along with its scenic beauty, Newnan's Lake offers a great chance to view wildlife, including ospreys and the occasional bald eagle.
