Somehow, I missed this information. I knew Robey had banged his arm. Didn't catch that they were considering moving Pouncey back to guard. I saw the Pouncey's play in high school. Lakeland is about 30 mins away from Plant City. One was a tackle the other a guard. Neither had played center until college. Obviously that puts a different spin on the situation. If Robey can't go, we may have serious issues at center.

It was hinted at in late August.

        Here is an example:

Florida Gators football pre-practice notes from John Brantley

Quarterback John Brantley met with reporters prior to Wednesday’s practice, which will be half-pads. He was the only one.

Here are some notes from what they said:

– If injuries force C Mike Pouncey to start at tackle and back-up Sam Robey steps in at center, Brantley is comfortable with that. He said has taken snaps from Robey in practice the past two years and added that Florida has not had any issues with snap handling during the pre-season.

Then Robey bursts the bursa in his right elbow, and we see this article:

With Florida's top two left offensive tackles out of the opener with injuries, there was speculation earlier in the week that a reshuffled line would see standout center Mike Pouncey moving to tackle. But Pouncey is staying put.

I take from this exchange that Robey would have started last Saturday but for his elbow injury, and find it strange that his injury status has never been disclosed. Instead, the press releases have steered the rationale for Pouncey back at Center by focusing on the benefit of putting Wilson on the field as opposed to the possibility that we may not really have a choice right now.
