Are you sure? I think it really was Dent who should have run thru the
catcher. Zumino hit the ball.

 

Anyway we had our chances  in the 9th and 10th. It should have been over but

You're right, it was Zunino. And, rounding 3rd he was running outside the
3rd base line. To avoid the catcher he. Went around the catcher on the
inside of the line taking extra time. Since the catcher was off the plate
down the line he was fair game and Zunino should have run him down and won
the game.

You are correct with everything except it was zunino that was thrown out....


But he was running from second, and he is a catcher... so he is not the most
agile guy.... and probably couldn't make that turn....

But if he had been on the line, I tend to agree w you....

he might have been hit in the back with the ball or the catcher is on his
back as Dent scores. By running around the catcher inside the line allowed
the catch and tag to be made.
