Yes, we like boudin balls, dirty rice, Natchitoches meat pies, and most of the bayou cuisine.
We have several favorite restaurants in New Orleans and one, Boutin's, where you can dine to live zydeco music in Baton Rouge. In N.O. we always go to The Gumbo Shop, on St. Peter Street a couple of blocks off Bourbon Street toward Jackson Square, where Paula usually orders the Pecan-encrusted baked fish of the day and I order the crayfish etouffe, jambalaya and a bowl of gumbo. Deanie's Seafood earns its name with great Gulf dishes. And, it would be a waste of the entire trip not to have coffee with chicory and beignets at Cafe Du Monde Coffee Stand at the French Market. Friday night on Bourbon Street will be wild with all the football fans wearing the colors doing cheering contests. Hopefully, our Gator fans will make a good showing. It's a lot of fun. A.
