I'm in favor of promoting from within, as long as there's been some
stability in the ranks.  It promotes loyalty and gives encouragement to the
lower guys on the totem pole.  Having said that, though, I think with the
chaotic turnover in the coaching staff the last few years, it doesn't much
matter if Coach M goes outside or not.

And I don't see how Gator football will ever return to prominence if we
can't find some way to stem this crazy coaching merry-go-round.  Already
here comes the 4th OC in 4 years.  You can't win like that.  And I believe
it would be 4 DCs in 4 years, too, but for some reason Dan Quinn decided to
stay.  :-)
