I need to point out that Mack Brown also seemed to have trouble picking up the blitz. Could it actually be a problem with the offensive line?
Taylor did average 5.2 yards per carry. Some of his lesser carries seemed to be some hesitancy with the handoff in the backfield. That could have been his fault but is more likely just due to inexperience of both Murphy and Taylor. Clearly injuries have been killing us all year. We just seemed to be out of sync on Saturday. The most important thing on offense is that we did not have much of a downfield game, primarily because we could not give Murphy much time. I also felt like the coaches were (understandingly) reluctant to allow Murphy to run with the ball.
