Muschamp's biggest mistake was hiring Charlie Weiss. That set the offense back. Pease didn't get it out of the hole. Roper didn't have time to develop what had become a dysfunctional offense. One year wasn't enough time to change things beyond a basic, mostly conservative offense, especially when a freshman quarterback took over. The basic offense that was installed for Georgia and Vanderbilt was easily defended once the South Carolina DC figured out what we were doing.
