A flat-out death threat would have been surprising, but something like "you'd better watch your back," would not have been, and there wasn't anything like that there. Of course, you can't rule out that someone would be extremely dumb :) (Haven't you ever watched any of those TV shows about stupid criminals ?) I wouldn't think it would have been easy for anyone to get close enough to him to deliver a death threat in person.
