Natale Tumchyasathi – A tribute to lavni Sweet aroma of jasmine `gajraas', nine yards of `Paithani' saris, large red bindis and `ghungroos', foot-tapping music...the stage will be set ablaze by dancers who will sweep you off your feet with their brilliant performances. We bring all this colour and fun into your lives. `Lavni', a dance form exclusive to Maharashtra, has not received the
rightful place it deserves in society and today, it finds itself obscured and on
the edge. Unlike `Kathak', its twin sister, which received a royal status,
accolades, and encouragement from the intelligentsia. The status of `lavni' and
`tamasha' artists is unfortunate and many are in penury.
With `Bin Baincha Tamasha' paving the way for an all-male team of performers, we present `Natale Tumchyasathi', a show by a band of boys that will steal your hearts. Get set for the performance at 8 p.m. on September 9, 2004, at Shivaji Mandir, Dadar, Mumbai. The show is produced by Kala Nimriti and presented by Vihang Kala Manch.
