Hi,

Hmmm..Interesting topic, I should say... :-)
Let us explore the FREAKY amazing puzzle a little, shall we??

Step 1. Choosing any number from 1 to 10.. Let it be x

Step 2. We were asked to multiply it by 9. So, it becomes 9x

Step 3. Now, we were asked to add up the digits:
If 9x is a single digit number, there is only one possibility...
9x = 9 (This is trivial...)
However, if 9x is a two digit number then, let 9x = ab
(a is the digit in ten's place and b in one's place)
In other words, the decimal system dictates that...
9x=(ab)= (10*a)+(b)
Now,
9x=(10*a+b) can be written equivalently as...
9x = (9*a)+(a+b)
Now, simple division states that, since ab is already a product of 9,
and so is 9a. Hence, a+b is always equal to 9, for x between 1 and 10! (As rightly pointed out by Mr. Sycophant)
However, remember the case is only true for x between 1 and 10, for products that have more than two digits a similar analogy can be worked out to see that the sum of the digits of all the products of 9, would always yield another multiple of 9.

Step 4. Since now we have 9. We were simply asked to do:
9-5 = 4

Step 5. 4 is always the letter "D".

Step 6. The only country that first comes to anyone's mind is Denmark.

Step 7. The first animal that comes to mind is Kangaroo.

Step 8. The first fruit is Orange!

However, most of the two percent cases can be covered by formulating the last statement as:
Giraffe in Danzig eating a...
Antler  in Dominica eating a ...
Cat in Dominican Republic
Cow in                             eating a  [not-so-easy to come up with names]

Ofcourse, you are definitely in the two percent if you live in any of the above countries! LOL!!!

Enjoy! :-)
-DD
P.S: I am only a 21 year old Engg student. :-p
P.S: Sorry for the excruciating explanation... :-D

hi............ whoever has send this........... there can't be anyone in the 2% category........... this is because when u multiply anything between 1 and 10 by 9 the sum of the digits of the two digit no. thus produced is always 9 and hence the rest follows whatever might be the no.

1------ 1X9 =9
2------ 2X9=18 --------1+8=9
3------ 3X9=27 --------2+7=9
similarlr go with 36, 45, 54, 63, 72, 81 and u will get the same result..............

thanks........

 2% or 98%

 This is strange...can you figure it out?

Are you the 2% or 98% of the population?

Follow the instructions! NO PEEKING AHEAD!

* Do the following exercise, guaranteed to raise an eyebrow.

* There's no trick or surprise.

* Just follow these instructions, and answer the questions one at a time

 and as quickly as you can!

 * Again, as quickly as you can b . don't advance until you've done each
of them ... really.

 * Now, scroll down (but not too fast, you might miss something).
