I agree with you John, Christianity has been the crutch that the prjudiced lean on for all kinds of atrocoties throughout history. >From its inception or conception it has been the self righeous excuse to persecute blacks, jews, north american indians, it has been the excuse to treat women as chattles, and children as little more than slaves, and catholics dominating protestants, and wars with other counties over religious domination...and victorian and draconian rules. But John that is not Christianity. What ever that is, it comes from narrow minded self seeking individuals who are not in a relationship with a loving and merciful god. This is the god I celebrate at Christmas... PS the pastor of my church has a gay son, so they know too well the cruelty of the self righeous in their midst. Thou shalt not burden the shop girl, the mailman, and the merchant with complaints and demands. 5. Thou shalt give thyself with thy gift. This will increase its value a hundred fold, and he who receiveth it shall treasure it forever. 6. Thou shalt not value gifts received by their cost. Even the least expensive may signify love, and that is more priceless than silver and gold. 7. Thou shalt not neglect the needy. Share thy blessings with many who will go hungry and cold unless thou are generous. 8. Thou shalt not neglect thy church. Its services highlight the true meaning of the season. 9. Thou shalt be as a little child. Not until thou has become in spirit as a little one art thou ready to enter into the kingdom of Heaven. 10. Thou shall not forget to share your joy, hope, peace and faith with those around you. Remember A man may go to heaven...... Without health, without wealth; Without fame, without a great name; Without learning, without earnings; Without culture, without beauty; Without friends and without ten thousand other things----- But he can NEVER go to Heaven without Christ. THE REALITY Thou shalt give thy heart to thyself. Self knowledge is the supreme celebration. Thou shalt prepare thyself for celebration. Celebrate the individuality of your soul. Thou shalt not let religion replace your soul, thus robbing every day of its true meaning Thou shalt not burden others with demands that they explain your soul to you. Thou shalt give thyself a gift the gift of self-knowledge. Thou shalt not value gifts made of the things of this world. Even the most expensive substance is not as precious as thy soul. Neglect the needy. You are the most needy of the needy. True giving can only occur when you know thyself. Everything else is altruism. Neglect the church. Its services highlight the futility of man- made spirituality. Thou shalt be as a little child. That is all. You do not have to qualify for childhood. You do not have to qualify for heaven. Your soul is from heaven, not from an examination agency. Thou shalt forget to share thy joy, hope, peace and faith with others. These things are not shareable. They are internal. All else is fabricated. Remember . A man goes to heaven . With or without health, With or without fame, With or without learning, With or without earnings With or without culture, With or without beauty With or without our friends and with or without ten million other things A man embraces death either embracing his soul Or embracing the gods of this world, CHRIST, BUDDHA, ALLAH.
