On the eve of her fifth wedding anniversary, Preeti Veerma, 32, hung herself in her flat, leaving behind a suicide note blaming her husband and in-laws for mentally and physically abusing her. Veermas body was discovered on Sunday. Her husband Sanjay, 30, a jeweller, and her brother, Manoj were arrested on Monday after the note confirmed that the two had been having a gay affair. The note also suggested that Veerma had been tortured when she protested the relationship. A local police officer claimed that the men were also cousins and used to share a house. "Sanjay and Preeti were married for five years but Sanjay remained very close to his cousin Manoj. That relationship must have driven her to suicide," a neighbour said.
