I realize that this is not a Gnatbox issue but it effects Gnatbox users.
Has anybody else noticed for the last few weeks that DNS lookups for RFC1918 addresses (private service) have been very slow. I have been talking to my ISP about it and found out the if you do a reverse DNS lookup for a private service address, it is referred out to blackhole.isi.edu for the authoritative answer. If you do a lookup for 10.0.0.xx on the blackhole.isi.edu server it usually times out a couple of times before it comes back with an answer (try a couple of different host parts ie. .10,.15,.23 etc.). This makes my mailserver on the PSN appear to be very slow, because it does a reverse lookup on all connections for logging. The DNS root servers are set up so that the blackhole.isi.edu server is authoritative for this class of addressed. Does anybody know why this is?? Thanks Jeff Bettes Grace & Wild
