Currently, GNAT Box PRO, Demo, and Light can only be run
from floppy.

This isn't as bad as it sounds. First of all, the FD is
only accessed during bootup, or when a configuration change
is made. Given that the floppy only spins when it is
accessed, and a HD spins all the time, this actually gives
a bit of an edge to the floppy. You can also put a piece
of tape over the floppy drive once the disk is inserted to
keep dust out and improve the life of the disk and drive
even more.

The floppy also allows a very rapid fix in the event of
a drive or media failure. Any geek worth their salt has
at least one extra floppy drive that can be swapped into
a machine with less than 10 minutes downtime.
If you use GBAdmin to make all of your configuration
changes, and get into the habit of always saving a copy
to your HD when a change is made to the GNAT Box, then
you can use GBAdmin to create a new floppy if a media
failure occurs. Total downtime: Less than 5 minutes.
