If this is the case then explain why every machine on my LAN hits the
firewall on port 1900 when there are *0* XP machines.  No one has
offered solid info on what exactly uses this port 1900.  We know that it
happens when you install MSN messenger, but no one has found any
documentation to support what it is for.

UDP port 1900 is used by Microsoft's universal plug-and-play. This
"feature"
was introduced in XP. The XP box is looking for your Internet-enabled
refrigerator.
