it locks up on it's own, once it has locked up, I can't make any config changes until I cycle the power

Ours tends to semi-lock up when changing aliases or inbound tunnels randomly. I use the web interface, and it just times out during a save, so I click elsewhere, click back to aliases or inbound tunnels and hit save and repeat the process until it saves the changes. Had this problem for 3 years. :) -----Original Message----- From: Curtis Muncy [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, October 06, 2003 1:23 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [gb-users] GB1000 lock up I have a GB1000 that worked fine for several years in a previous location. I have moved it to a new network and reconfigured it. Now it is locking up occasionally. It is now connected (on the external interface) to a network that is shared by other companies. I have 6 IP's that I can use (which are not all in a continues block) (i.e. EXT network is XXX.YYY.ZZZ.128 SM 255.255.255.224). I have been given .139, .142, .143, .144, .156, and .157 IP's in the XXX.YYY.ZZZ.128 network to work with. The EXT interface is on XXX.YYY.ZZZ.139. I have created alias for the other IP's that I have been given. I have a Protected network of 10.10.10.0 SM 255.255.252.0. The Protected network interface is on 10.10.10.1. A verify configuration comes back without any errors. Occasionally the GB1000 will lock up. This happens randomly, but seems like it is about 2 - 3 weeks between lockups. When the GB1000 locks up: 1) It will not respond to ping on any of the external IP's aliased to the external interface 2) It will not respond to ping on the protected network interface 3) It will not respond on the console interface 4) It doesn't pass any traffic from the external to the internal interface 5) I have logging turned on and no errors show up in the log, the GB1000 just stops sending any messages to the logging server when it locks up 6) The power light on the front is glowing red 7) The ext and protected interface lights on the front show solid amber and flashing green (as though it thinks it is sending traffic) 8) The ext and protected interface lights on the cable jacks on the back show solid amber and flashing green (as though it thinks it is sending traffic) If I cycle the power on the GB1000, it comes back up without errors and works fine (including sending log messages). Any ideas?
