Since I've not noticed another answer, here is a 2nd class response,
meaninging not very authoritative ...

Checking my saved copy of my config (I'm not where I have access to the
firewall), I found what seems like a bizare tunnel ...
   7   TCP   10.1.0.49    25   10.1.2.49   25    filter

seems to be that is a NOP, but I have a similar spec for my backup to DMZ
connection and it was required and seems to work. 10.1.0.49 is my email
server.

I don't recall if TELNET was one of the utilities on the gnatbox, but if
it is, you could try a manual connect from the gnatbox console to your
email server. If no TELNET, verify PING ...
