Industry leading retrofit program extends life of GB-1000 firewall appliances
Orlando, FL - October 23, 2003 - Global Technology Associates, Inc. (GTA), a worldwide leader in cost-effective network security solutions, today announced a retrofit program for the GB-1000 Firewall/VPN appliance. This industry leading retrofit program allows end users to extend the functional life of their appliances to accept future releases of GNAT Box System Software. First introduced in fall 2000, the GB-1000 Firewall/VPN appliance was replaced in summer 2003 by the GB-1200 Firewall Appliance. Through the GB-1000 retrofit program, GB-1000 end users may opt to have their GB-1000 unit retrofitted with components that will allow the appliance to accept future versions of GNAT Box System Software and take advantage of new features and technologies beyond GNAT Box System Software version 3.4. All GB-1000 serial numbers are eligible under the program which offers both depot retrofit or advanced replacement options, depending upon the serial number of the unit, and the end users' acceptable downtime. The GB-1000 retrofit program will be available through June 30, 2004. "Our customers have trusted GTA to provide exceptional longevity of our appliance products. Now that the GB-1000 appliance has outgrown the technological advances of our GNAT Box System Software beyond version 3.4, GTA customers may opt to extend the functional life of their GB-1000 through this retrofit program," said Paul Emerson, President of GTA.
