Paul, What do your outbound filters look like? Do you have any "Deny" filters ahead of the "Allow Protected Networks access to anywhere" filter?
I suspect that the messages you've pasted are from something other than your attempt to map the drive. Something else that's not clear from what you wrote -- I'm not sure if you have shared the drive on the server in the PSN. You mentioned that its an FTP server, but you didn't confirm that the drive is shared.
