The 750 also has no standard power connectors in it. Since it is SATA it
has only the SATA connectors and the floppy power connector. However, I'm
sure an adapter could be made.

Subject: [gb-users] Power Header?

Just curious if anyone knows how to hack a drive power connector into a
Dell 1650? The motherboard power connector doesn't have any leads
putting out a true 5V, all are under 4V except the ones putting out 12V
seem to go higher (most power supplies do).

I was successful in installing GBWare by putting a PCI IDE card in and
powering the CF chip off of the power connector from a nearby PC. Boots
and runs fine. I had to do the install in the PC as the Belkin IDE card
(silicon image chip) isn't recognized by the installer, but it boots and
runs fine after installation is complete.

Theoretically, those of you having problems with the PowerEdge 750's
might be able to install to the drive outside the chassis in another
box, then move the drive back.

Note to GTA: The installer seems to be the item with the problem, the OS
seems to recognize most standard IDE and SATA controllers.
